Hello Mr. Bass Fishermen, A NEW RECORD! The first tournament for 2005 is history. What a great tournament it was. We set a new attendance record with 92 boats. A full field of amateurs made it 184 fishermen, the largest tournament in Mr. Bass Pro Am history. We did have 203 fishermen in the late 80s when Mr. Bass was a regular draw tournament. Now let’s see if we can break that number at DeGray. We need over 100 boats. All we need is for you to invite a friend and we will get there. Thank you very much for fishing with us. The Pro Division winner was Keith Cook from Amity with a limit that weighed in at 16.80 pounds. He caught them in 14 to 16 feet of water on the outside edge of the moss on a Rapala DT-16. The 8 lb braided line helped him to cut through the moss when he needed to. For his efforts he took home a check for $2540.00. Newcomer to the Mr. Bass Tournaments, Joshua Atkins won the Amateur Division with 13.38 pounds winning $1360.00. |

Remember we will be awarding a gas grill to someone that brought someone new to the Mr. Bass Tournaments. We need to know who you are. The next tournament is this weekend on Lake DeGray. The Pairing will be held at the Holiday Inn just off of I-30 at Caddo Valley. It will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday the 12th. If you missed the Ouachita tournament, that’s OK, you can still qualify for the 2005 Mr. Bass Classic in just as few as five tournaments. There has been some discussion about the MBAO pay out. We will explain how it works at the pairing meeting this weekend. We pay one place for every seven fishermen. At the Ouachita Tournament we paid 85% on the spot. If you have any questions please call and I will give you a report on how all of the numbers work. Hope to see you at DeGray, |
